How to avoid air holes and sand holes on cast iron base plate
2021-05-21 15:44:12

The cast iron base plate is a commonly used measuring tool, which is often used for work such as measurement, inspection, scribing, and calibration of workpieces. The blisters on the cast iron base plate are a common defect in the production of castings. The reason is that the gas in the molten metal is not discharged before the solidification of the casting.

Cast iron base plate to air holes:

Control the gas content/gas generation volume of the molten liquid, the cavity should be vented smoothly; the water content should be less; and the pouring system design should be reasonable.

Cast iron base plate to sand holes:

Cavity strength must meet the requirements, cavity cleaning must be clean; molten liquid slag must be clean; the pouring system should have a slag blocking function; and the pouring process will not damage the cavity.
